I received reports that the Twisp, Omak, and Oroville/Tonasket stations (KTWP 91.1, KOMQ 88.5 and KPBG 90.9) all went down Saturday afternoon. All three of those stations are dependent on the Shaw satellite for audio delivery. I was able to reach someone at Shaw headquarters in Toronto and she explained that all of the Spokane uplinks are down. They do not yet know the reason but they are working on it.
I certainly hope they find it quickly.

I am a KPBX listener in eastern Ontario. I was disappointed that Click & Clack weren’t on Saturday per usual. Today (Sunday, January 20) KPBX is still off Shaw Direct satellite channel 497.
I called the Shaw Direct technical problems section today at 5:45 PM EST. The tech told me that they are working on the problem. He assured me that KPBX is still being provided to Shaw Direct satellite subscribers, but they don’t have an ETA on when service will be restored.
I read your blog and thought that a call from a subscriber might add to the importance of restoral of service.
Thanks, Ross
I did speak with someone in Toronto on Saturday, She assured me that they were working on the outage which affected all of the Spokane stations being uplinked to the satellite, of which we are but one. When I checked the stations Sunday evening, they were working. Again, my thanks to the folks at Shaw who got it going again.

KPBX is back on Shaw Direct satellite as of 7:29 AM EST, Monday January 21. That’s great!
